About Me

Wildflowers can’t be controlled and neither can the girl with a soul boundless as the sky, and a spirit as free and wild as the ocean.

Hello world!
Welcome to thebrownwildflower.com,
I’m Ashwini Ashok from Aamchi Mumbai, India. Currently located in Sindhudurg District of  Maharashtra. What am I doing here? Currently Living my life, one sunset, a kind gesture, and a cup of coffee at a time, also genuinely appreciating every single thing traveling solo is teaching me.

I love traveling since I was a little girl, however, I had no clue how to turn my passion into a full-time career.

I decided to explore different career paths, First I got my degree in Commerce, then I went ahead and did my diploma in Human resource management and Post-graduate diploma in international business.

In mid-2015 I became familiar with the concept of solo traveling and with the support of my family and the alignment of my stars I took my first domestic trip to Goa in June 2016 and that is when I realized traveling was my one true calling. There was no stopping after that.

In 2017 I went ahead and enrolled myself for Diploma in Creative writing and left for my two-week-long second solo trip to Malvan town which is in the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra.

Those two weeks were the toughest and most challenging weeks of my life. I learned a bunch of things that I never learned in school or college. That phase of my life made me stronger as a person and I grew fonder of Malvan- the coastal marvel of Maharashtra.

Traveling not only helped me explore different places geographically but also helped me learn about people, their customs, and traditions. I even had the pleasure of witnessing Local festivities and eating special delicacies. It’s amazing, how the local cuisine taste changes every few hundred miles.

After my Sindhudurg trip, Later I traveled to Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Amritsar, and Chandigarh and with each passing trip, I grew fonder of solo travel. I love the fact that traveling makes me happy and humble instantly.

In December 2019 just before the pandemic hit India, I decided to start my own travel and lifestyle blog.

After starting my blog, I decided to move to Sindhudurg district in November 2020, and instantly fell in love with the nature, people, food, festivities, beaches, and temples of Sindhudurg district. It’s been more than a year and a half since I moved here and I am loving every bit of this experience.

What am I going to share on this platform? Mostly stories of my experiences on the road, tales of kindness and humanity. Raw and honest reviews about Homestays, Hotels, and Luxurious Villas. I will also be reviewing fashion, skincare, and beauty products made in India.
The content will be fresh and genuine. Stay tuned for further updates.

If you too are a travel enthusiast then do Read my existing blogs and follow thebrownwildflower on Instagram and Facebook. I would like to connect with you. I appreciate individuality, I am looking forward to interacting with my fellow wildflowers. Hop on, I will make sure we will have a gala time together.
